Setting the parallel port on IBM PS/2 computers
By default, the parallel port on the IBM PS/2 computer is configured in a manner that is not compatible with the LabelVision SentinelPro lock device. If you have this problem, LabelVision software will ask you to connect the SentinelPro, even though you have connected it to a parallel port.

If you have this problem, follow these instructions to reconfigure the parallel port:

  1. Reboot your computer.
  2. While the computer is rebooting, press Alt-Ctrl-Ins to get into setup.
  3. Select option #4 (Set Config).
  4. Select option #2 (Change Config).
  5. Position the cursor on the "Parallel Arbitration Level" by pressing the down arrow.
  6. Press F6 to change the setting from "SHARED 7" to "DISABLED".
  7. Save Config (F10).
  8. Exit Config (F3).
  9. Exit Setup (F3).
  10. Press Enter to restart computer.
